Timothy Tamas - Composer, Producer.

Delving into the summery playfulness of grunge pop, the melancholy and contemplative vibes of indie electronica, the introspective and meditative nuance of ambience, and the captivating grooves of reggae; music is my medium of curiosity and understanding, my method of expression, and my passion.

My name's Timothy Tamas, I'm a multi-instrumentalist composer and producer residing in Berlin. Growing up on a small island off the east coast of Australia, music has always captured my curiosity and befriended both my most mundane and remarkable experiences, creating an audible timeline of memories and feelings. I began my journey in high school; my friends and I scratched cacophonies out from the high school guitars, attempting to learn as many Red Hot Chili Pepper songs as our own ears would permit.

I began formal music training at the end of 2014 after I was accepted to study a bachelor of contemporary music with a specialisation in songwriting. It was during this this time I honed my skills both on the guitar and within the computer as a producer. In parallel with my studies I began working on my first professional musical projects outside of an academic context: the first being Hemingway. The band was actively touring both Australia and NZ between 2015 and 2019, having released a collection of singles and a 5-track concept album during this period.

In 2018 my second band GUS was formed; the bitter half of Hemingway, in which those cacophonic scratches from my school days had developed into something more sculpted and coherent. GUS was actively touring around Australia and released both multiple singles and a full feature length album, written and mixed primarily by myself.

During my last year of university, I started engaging more actively with social issues in my private life. This influence naturally extended into my music and shifted my focus into "music sustainability". My project Reflections was created in 2019, and was displayed in the National Library of QLD for one week. The intention behind this project was to encourage reflection about our relationship with our planet, leveraging audio as the emotional trigger.

Now, living in Berlin, my latest studio project

frickle has spawned. With a debut EP expected in the beginning of 2023, frickle has multiple releases planned for the year, expanding across genres through conceptualism.
